Black Mirror by GG Fearn
GG Fearn has returned with another dark pop treat for the world, the four track EP called Black Mirror. The sound has evolved significantly since the last album ‘Perfect On Paper‘. Fearn has evolved not only in sound but also overall as an artist with a whole new polish. Black Mirror’s four tracks have a cohesive sound and flow nicely from one song to the next. Starting off with ‘Deal with the Devil‘, this is a perfect introduction into Fearn’s world if you are a first time listener. It’s a dark bop, upbeat and tantalizing! Next up is the title track ‘Black Mirror‘ which is very much like the TV show of the same name but in music form. So if you love the TV show then the song would be right up your alley!
That deal with the devil must have paid off because after making that deal and then having a twisted trip stuck in a black mirror, we have arrived at the next song. So make way for the new sadistic, pretentious ‘Teen Queen‘! Alas we end the EP with the very memorable anthem that is sure to go down in history ‘ Famous Last Words’. Hmmm, what were those famous last words? I guess you’ll just have to listen to the song and find out for yourself. I might be having too much fun with this EP which is why I’m glad that Fearn is back and in fine form. I didn’t post anything yesterday because I couldn’t get these songs out of my head.
