I have to say I’ve been anxiously waiting to share with you all the debut EP, ‘Muddy Boots and Messy Hair‘, by the very talented singer songwriter Alex Carroll. This is a name you NEED to remember. Three songs is simply not enough! This is my kind of Folk Pop and it’s so freaking good. The songwriting is absolutely impeccable.
It’s funny, in my never ending quest to devour more music and find music that could satiate my soul, I started this “review site” as a way for my friends to find new music without constantly asking me. Everyone has their favorite music streaming platform and I simply can’t be everywhere. Fast forward to a year and a half later and the music I had been so obsessively seeking found me, in the form of ‘Muddy Boots and Messy Hair‘.
While Alex has a slew of songs and covers on YouTube, which you can see here, you have to admit this Indie EP can hold its own against the pros. With the lyrical prowess of a seasoned professional backed with genuine emotive vocals that will pull at your heart stings, ‘Muddy Boots and Messy Hair‘ should be at the top of the charts. It’s familiar yet refreshingly new at the same time.
I hope we are treated to music from Alex Carroll for a long time. I will be eagerly awaiting any future music we are lucky enough to get.
