AK recently released the latest chill ambient, five track EP titled ‘Raindrops‘, which clocks in at about fifteen minutes and is well worth taking the time to listen to it. This is an artist that truly knows how to create movement and tension through music and from the start of ‘Raindrops‘ that is abundantly apparent. The first song ‘Sometimes I Feel Lost‘ slowly builds towards a dark tension. Imagine walking on an empty street in the middle of the night with that ghost town feeling, that’s the mood. ‘Trauma‘ immediately builds tension utilizing a steady rhythm and various textures before resolving in a beautifully peaceful ending. Here’s a quote from Aljosha Konstanty’s youTube video about ‘Raindrops‘:
I’ve always enjoyed taking walks in rain, listening to the rain with the window open, and especially while being in a tent when I would go camping with my family. That’s why I chose to name the EP “Raindrops”.
I can hear the influence of rain in each song, from the heavier steady downpour which can be heard in the beat of ‘Trauma‘ to a lighter rainfall coming from ‘Nacht und Nebel‘. Each song gives off an atmosphere with the different textures that can be seen as rain falling on various surfaces. I certainly felt like I was transported to different places while listening to each of the songs. It’s truly something you have to hear for yourself!
