The alt country duo, Zinnia Blue, recently released their full length, eleven track debut album called, ‘The Garden‘. The album features nine original songs and two cover songs (‘Cover Me Up‘ by Jason Isbell and ‘Lost Along the Way‘ by Jordie Lane and Tracy McNeil). You’ll find influences from Folk, Americana, Country, Bluegrass and more. Zinnia Blue have a way with combining intelligent lyrics, beautiful harmonies and brilliant instrumental arrangements that pull the listener in. It’s easy to fall into their beautiful garden for hours without ever noticing. Here’s a snippet about the album from the band:
The Garden is a reference to the place where the pair met and began playing music together, as well as an analogy for treading lightly on this Earth, and sharing its riches with those we love. The production of the album itself reflects this meaning, with no less than ten instrumentalists and half a dozen choir members contributing to the bountiful and evolving arrangements throughout the journey that is The Garden.
That is certainly a great analogy for what you can expect from, ‘The Garden‘. You may remember that last year we reviewed their single ‘Truth & Lies‘ which you can read here, and I’m happy to say that the album continues along the same vein. ‘The Garden‘ is gentle yet powerful and you can tell they took their time with every aspect of its creation. You can listen to the single ‘Grow Your Dreams‘ down below. As always, if you like what you hear then let’s keep good music coming by supporting these artists.
