New Self Titled Debut EP by In Case of Ire
So, I recently came across the new self titled debut EP by, In Case of Ire, which contains four Melodic Hardcore, Post Punk songs. It’s angsty and filled with disdain. Oh, and did I forget to mention that it is exceptionally good? Well it is! The first song, ‘Samson’s Bad Hair Day‘, is about the good and bad days we have. It compares modern day struggles to that of Samson with the lyric “We put Samson to shame as we wrestle our lions“. With the amount of stress and anxiety one carries these day I can surely understand this sentiment. Next on the EP is ‘Resistance is Futile’ which seeks to urge the listener to resist that which holds you back. That last verse rather is gripping and probably one of the most brilliant lyrics on the EP!
Third on the EP is the song ‘Validate Salvations’ which talks about killings in the name of salvation . The EP ends on the powerful song, ‘Scorched Earth Policy’, which is about how things won’t change until we change. It closes with the call to action, “Please be the change”. I have to say that the lyrics on this EP are witty and intelligent and are backed with the tour de force of the instrumental arrangement. From start to finish the songs tell a combined story and that’s an impressive about of detail the band put into this EP. Trust me when I say you’re going to want this EP!
