Hush by Moxi
A few weeks back the Indie Pop duo, Moxi, released the single ‘Hush‘ which mixes a bit of Dream Pop with some soothing yet dark elements to create a backdrop that compliments the songs overall message. ‘Hush‘ delves into the world of mental health and the toll pain takes on our mental state which often leads people to self medicate. Still, ‘Hush‘ manages to deliver its message in a serene manner.
The vocoded vocals that run throughout the song bring out the contrast between being human and the cold, emptiness, that a lot of people find themselves drowning in with depression. Still, all that contrast is wrapped in the warmth of the music production. Overall leading to a simplicity in balance despite the complexity of one of the most complex topics.
