Balance Me by Janie May
Janie May recently released the EP, ‘Balance Me‘, which contains four songs (two originals and two remixes). The original versions of ‘Balance Me‘ and ‘Some of These Days‘ are both produced by Zach Fuller and are songs that deal with growth. ‘Balance Me‘ has a nice heavy music composition which goes well with the lyrical content. ‘Some of These Days‘ while also having a weighty sound, throws in some bright synth textures giving it that balance of hardship and hope. May’s vocals are rich and thoroughly expressive, making each lyric vividly surround the listener placing you in the center of May’s world. Both songs have a remix by The Beat Disciples which gives each song a club banger vibe. Here’s what May had to say about the EP ‘Balance Me‘:
My EP Balance Me is fundamentally about growth and the growing pains that often come along with it. Sometimes you can know quite well that something needs to change yet struggle to break free of the cycles that you find yourself in. Ultimately, however, it’s about remaining hopeful that things can and do shift in due time.
Well said. Change can be hard and you hear that struggle throughout the ‘Balance Me EP. However, you also hear the hope for better days and it’s that balance of reality and hope that you can create a better future that gives the EP it’s magic!
