Sheyda recently released the single, ‘The Dragon‘, which is a song about addiction, the struggles to overcome the addiction, and the loved ones who can only watch helplessly as their loved one struggles. ‘The Dragon‘ delivers a raw, honest, and vulnerable conversation on how much work goes into overcoming addiction and how this work can only be done by the person with the addiction. The bold atmosphere is like a blazing fire that is all consuming. It’s balanced by the uplifting lyrics of support “You’ve got this” which are prominent in the last half of song. “I think a lot of people struggle with understanding,” Sheyda told American Songwriter about the song. “Healing and growing is a huge job and no one can do it for you. That’s the same concept around addiction. I can’t make someone want to be better or stop something, not my love for them or even their love for me. It’s got to be about the love they have for themselves.”
