Save His Calm by Mike Vass is a nine track folk album that laments loss at almost every turn, but in a very quaint sort of way. The atmosphere is extremely mellow yet dark. It’s enough to lull you into a trance and simultaneously rip your heart out. Ah, but what is love and connection without a little bit of pain and suffering, right? The lyrics definitely paint the heartbreaking picture for you. There are moments in some of the songs that give you that old world, bard feeling as well.
