Team Love debuted a three track Singles EP and it is a stripped down acoustic Country EP that shines brightly in the dark. I find a lot of strength in the lyrics. Breakup songs tend to vary in their approach, there may be a song titled ‘Sad Little Life’ but the songs don’t feel sad. You hear no anger in the songs even though there is a song called ‘Mean‘. One might think that you’d be angry with a person who’s mean to you or show anger if you’re the one being mean.
Nonetheless, the strength in these songs comes from that sense of just being done. Done with the pain, done with the misery, and done with the disappointment. The EP has a nice flow to it. All songs are singles so you’re not missing out on anything however, you can also hear the progression of these themes. Enough talk, have a listen to ‘Limelight‘ below
