There Be Monsters by Master of None

The dark, avant garde, indie rock band, Master of None, have returned with their sophomore studio album titled, ‘There Be Monsters. Now, if you don’t know MoN is the brainchild of Little Red’s very own Ian Mitchell. Moving from dark folk to dark avant garde rock has been seamless, as Mitchell has proven with the release of ‘There Be Monsters. While the first self titled album was filled with erratic and eclectic goodness that took you on a rollercoaster ride through the darkness, ‘There Be Monsters‘ reigns in the erratic chaos.

Each song flows from one to the next working in tandem with one another. A story begins to unfold, growing from ‘North Star‘ and building gradually towards ‘Tsunami‘. All of which culminates in the ending instrumental ‘Open Loop‘, which is a nice little electronic palate cleanser. All in all I’d have to say Master of None’s second album shows some massive growth. ‘There Be Monsters‘  surpasses its predecessor (which is a great album in itself) and I look forward to hearing what the next evolution will bring.
