‘Right or Wrong‘ is the latest single by the Art Rock / Grunge Pop duo, War Twins, and is off their upcoming album ‘American Kids’. The song is about singer songwriter Gaetana Grey’s personal experiences with domestic abuse and rape. It’s a heavy topic but they’ve done an amazing job bringing it to the forefront not one with the song but also with the music video which you can watch down below. Here’s what Grey had to say about ‘Right or Wrong‘:
To be honest, this project was a way for me to heal. When I began writing for War Twins, I felt a strong desire to give a message of brutal honesty, empowerment and strength. I didn’t know at the time that this was because it was what I needed myself. I am a survivor of rape, domestic violence and abuse, so for me this project has been about reclaiming who I am in a powerful way, even when it makes me uncomfortable.
In this day and age society still refuses to look at or acknowledge these topics in any real way. Many survivors have no recourse as a result. Songs like ‘Right or Wrong‘ are incredibly important for everyone. It’s important for the artist, for other survivors who may feel alone and isolated and it’s important for society to face these injustices and change for a better future for all.
