Last month ahead of the the UK general election the London based band, Moderate Rebels, released their anti government song ‘Every Cheat You Meet Sings Love Songs‘. The song is off an upcoming triple album containing thirty songs which will be released later this year. Considering everything that’s been happening around the world in recent months, it was aptly timed. ‘Every Cheat You Meet Sings Love Songs‘ has an easy going, upbeat, marching sound. This is in direct contrast to the monotone and apathetic vocals. Certainly a brilliant way to express how common these issues have become and how overloaded and accustomed we’ve grown to it all, that rarely do we seem phased by it.
We’re all aware of the campaign promises made but rarely kept. Politicians say a lot of things in hopes that we will all go back to business as usual and this song serves as a wake up call for the people to “beware of the cheats“.
