The First Time by Brian Grogan
Last Month Brian Grogan released his fifth single, ‘The First Time‘, which is off the debut EP, ‘From A To B‘. ‘The First Time‘ was a nice song to close out the Ep with (obviously). It’s got a nice feel to it that goes well with the other singles released. Brian has done an excellent job, yet again, with the storytelling and in making each song feel like it’s own entity as well as part of a whole. The song is about the experiences we have with a new sexual partner and how worried we can be about compatibility. I wanted to reference the real experience of sex thus the references to clumsiness and coordination problems.
The EP is inspired by a phase in my life where I became fascinated by sex. This fascination (or obsession) came shortly after getting a circumcision at the age of 27 due to suffering from a condition called Phimosis.
As you may recall we reviewed the previous four songs which you can read here if you missed it. The concept of the ‘From A To B‘ EP turned out nicely.
