Did It Again by Sound of Kalima

Sound of Kalima released their latest single ‘Did It Again‘ which takes a quirky look at societal authority, the hypocrisy within it and how those in positions of authority hold the duality of being products of the system as well as part of the problem. For such a heavy seeming topic, it’s also just a fun, upbeat, catchy song! Actually, ‘Did It Again‘ is a rather delightful song with a summery atmosphere. Here’s what the band had to say about ‘Did It Again‘:

(It) questions authority figures and their hypocritical nature, while considering that they’re not entirely to blame. Absolute power corrupts absolutely — and that’s an absolute.

Sal Verma also added:

We liked the idea of using sampled hip hop drums with punkier guitars and melody to hopefully represent that we are hip hop producers in the end, but with a bit of punk.

Indeed, ‘Did It Again‘ does have a mixture of pop punk and hip hop elements to it. I guess that’s what makes it such a fun song! You can listen to ‘Did It Again‘ down below.
