Inner North by Cat Canteri is an impressive work of songwriting mastery. Canteri is able to create brilliantly worded storytelling in about 4 minutes. It’s like having your favorite stories sung to you. Each song tells a story from start to finish, all of which are interconnected and separate at the same time. Some of the greatest songs have been in story form and Canteri has mastered this art.

I’m talking about the kind of music that pulls you in and won’t let go because you’ve just got to hear where it’s going and how it’ll end. Or it’s an all too familiar narrative, something that hits home. This is Canteri’s strength and I don’t think anyone today does it better.
