Broken Ship by Akiva
The song Broken Ship by UK rockers Akiva, was born out of the frustrations in which governments around the world have been dealing with the complexities of the issues in their countries. While the song is driven more by the chaos of Brexit, it is certainly written in a way that we, across the pond in the States, can relate to one hundred percent. It’s the overall idea that is it hard for change to occur when those in charge lack a moral compass. Also there are unseen forces all of which bear no consequences for their actions. Singer and guitarist Dave MacKenzie had this to say about Broken Ship;
Our country has a lot of problems at the moment. I can’t help but thinking that if there had been more consequences for certain people’s actions in the past decade or so, we wouldn’t have quite so many angry, frustrated and disillusioned people.
