Come to Mama by Calista Kazuko is the first song off the upcoming ‘Empress‘ album that will be released on Friday, September 13th later this year. The song opens with this hypnotic “come hither” type of bass line which is quite befitting the song. Here is what Calista had to say about the single ‘Come to Mama‘:
Powerful women throughout history are massively sexualised, even objectified. Is it because history is written by men? Or were these Empresses using their female prowess to rule the world?
A bit of food for thought there. I would wager on it being a mix of both. After all, to this day we refer to “men of power” but the phrase “women of power” is seldom said. With the thought of power being predominately seen as male people tend to usurp power by other means when there seems to be a lack of balance.
