Dirt by Elliot Lee

Dirt by Elliot Lee dropped recently and it without a doubt slaps! The song is an undeniable, in your face, anthem to all those who devalue what music means and can do for people. Music is the universal language. It connects and heals people. Music is the friend that understands when no one else does. It’s all encompassing. Therefore it’s imperative artists be allowed to express themselves because it’s from their personal experience and their real emotions embedded in their songs that truly determines the difference between a bop and a flop. It’s of this frustration ‘Dirt ‘ was born. Here’s what Lee had to say about the single ‘Dirt ‘:

When I was in LA briefly, the people I worked with didn’t understand or respect my message and my path, therefore getting in the way of my goals as an artist. Being told that no one is going to listen to my lyrics made me feel like dirt.”

There is this old song called “Killing Me Softly“, It’s been covered a lot most famously by The Fugees, and the song is the epitome of the connection between an artist and the audience. In short, “Killing Me Softly” details a story of how a local musician is seemingly singing songs about the life of an audience member, yet they’ve never met. This connection is the difference between a one hit wonder and a legend.

This is why you must trust in yourself and your vision no matter what you do. ‘Dirt ‘ is only one of the many bops Lee has created. Bops that wouldn’t exist if Lee were to have listened to others. Lee is well on the way to becoming a legend and I look forward to all the music to come. You can watch the music video for ‘Dirt‘ below. As always, if you like what you hear then let’s keep good music coming by supporting these artists. Remember to follow the artist and spread the word! Artists Links below.
