‘My Baby’s No One’s Girl‘ is the latest single by the indie rock band, North America, and is a bittersweet love song about being in a relationship with someone who is non-committal. Throughout the song the instrumentation is wrapped in different textures, which enchants the listener. Throw in some dreamy vocals and you are just a bewitched by this non-committal relationship. According to the press release:
the song is a candid letter of warning about a lover slipping through your fingers. Describing those intimate moments of a relationship they thought would never end, My Baby’s No One’s Girl is a realisation of being blinded by love as fond memories turn to bittersweet retrospect.
Certainly, I’d have to admit that the songwriting manages to give off that bittersweet realization. Also, let’s not forget that amazing solo at the end!
