Self Titled EP by Charlie Marie
Charlie Marie released a classic, country and western, five track, self titled EP a few months back and if you’ve been craving that good ol’ country music then look no further! We’re talking good old fashion guitar slides, twang and a whole lot of heartbreak! Charlie’s music cuts right into the roots. From the start she’s upfront about what’s what. Proclaiming in the song ‘Rhinestones‘:
Just because you wear a Stetson, and you say you were made in Texas, doesn’t mean you’re country and western.
If you’re looking to win Charlie’s heart you’ve got to be a good ol’ boy through and through because she knows exactly what she’s look for! In ‘Rodeo‘ we hear about a love that can’t be caged. Here one day and gone the next but the memories are worth every second of the excitement. Still, at the end of it all, this is something you knew wouldn’t last but it sure was worth the time.
With an appreciation for that down home feel we dive straight into the song ‘Countryside‘. No matter where you go, no matter how bright the lights are in the city there is always a countryside, where the pace is a little slower and the folks are a little nicer. ‘Countryside‘ sits at the center of the EP and it’s about everything that gives country music it’s soul.
