There Is A Light by Ramey

The Pop Folk Rock band Ramey released their ten track debut album not too long ago titled ‘There Is A Light‘ and it has that storytelling feel to the songs which, for the most part, have that folky roots vibe.

Here’s a bit about the band from their website:

RAMEY brings pop-leaning folk rock to the Midwest with joyful relevance. It’s a meeting of wistful Dylan and The Avett Brothers; of Hank Williams jamming with Ryan Adams. The six-piece hits a sweet spot of true-to-roots and real exploration.

The Old Road‘ Starts the album off with an upbeat love song. It’s catchy and the harmonies are perfect which makes for a great start to the album. Afterwards, the next few songs mellow out a bit as the storytelling aspect of the album really sets in, captivating the listener. While the songs tend to deal with love and relationships as well as the ups and downs of life and its choices, there is quite a bit of  theme variety in the slower tempo songs. However, there is always a light to be found which provides a nice balance to the heavier songs, especially towards the end of the album.

All in all, this is a well written album that’s bound to captivate you. Speaking of light, the title track, ‘There Is A Light‘, is right down below so why not drop down and listen!
