Hold Me Like You Know Me by The Know

Hold Me Like You Know Me by The Know

So, the Los Angeles based dream pop duo, The Know, recently released their newest song titled ‘Hold Me Like You Know Me‘ which is about feeling isolated and alone. Now I know that’s something we all deal with in life and the Dream Pop vibe of this song really creates an atmosphere that is well suited for this topic. Here’s what Jennifer Farmer had to say about ‘Hold Me Like You Know Me‘:

This is a very personal song. It describes a feeling of intense loneliness and isolation which I’ve dealt with a lot this past year. Wanting to be seen, felt, loved and adored. Although it’s written from a romantic perspective, I think this feeling is also true of friendships, family, etc. Especially in this modern day and age, where everyone is so detached and in their own worlds, it’s hard to feel connected on any kind of genuine level. You can be in a room full of people and still feel lonely.

I certainly understand what Farmer is saying here. I think we all eventually get to a point in life where we can relate to this. It’s apart of human nature to want to be connected to others. The way Farmer and Knowles went about writing the song, truly captures that feeling.
