Reverie by Openfire.
So I recently came across the debut R&B / Pop album ‘Reverie‘ by the band, Openfire., which came out last summer. Their brand of R&B puts live instruments back into R&B music. It’s got a fresh vibe to it yet reminds you of Classic R&B or rather it has that Classic R&B feel because of the live instruments. However let me just clarify, ‘Reverie‘ sounds very modern, even progressive as far as R&B is concerned. It’s a nice change of pace and definitely makes this band stand out in the world of modern R&B.
Each member of this band are multi-instrumentalists and they use those talents to create their own unique sound. From jazzy Sax solos, to beautiful Cello arrangements and everything in between, Openfire. is a band that is bursting with a ton of talent. Songs like ‘2am‘ and ‘If We’re Lucky‘ are more Pop and R&B driven, whereas ‘Collateral Damage‘ and ‘Embers‘ have that Neo Soul feel going on. They are certainly showing how insanely talented they are on their debut album, ‘Reverie‘, and I’m happy to have found this band. Hopefully there will be more to look forward to in the future but for now this is a great start!
