Lights! by Penny Betts
I recently check out Penny Betts newest single called, ‘Lights!‘ and let me just say this is one Indie pop song that you’ll want to check out immediately! ‘Lights!‘ has a indie pop rock vibe with a bit of retro sixties elements. Let me just say the sound they are going for works well for them. You can hear this is a more mature sound they are giving off in ‘Lights!‘. Penny Betts have managed to really bring that classic sound forward while keeping its essence intact. Here’s what the band had to say about ‘Lights!‘ :
It was written late at night all in one go, with lyrics and music arriving simultaneously. A demo was made the next morning, with the structure being cemented. The groove of the song only came once we played it all together, changing it from a straight indie rock type track to something more authentic. The big fuzzy guitar riff at the end was taken from another unfinished song idea of ours.
I can certainly appreciate when a song comes together so magically. I’m intrigued by the innovativeness they’ve got going on. So why not check it out for yourself?
