Dante’s Inferno by Flight Of Eden

Dante’s Inferno by Flight Of Eden

Last week, Flight Of Eden released their concept album ‘Dante’s Inferno‘. The album is based on Italian poet Dante Aligheri’s epic 14th Century work, The Divine Comedy. Specifically, ‘The Inferno’, which is the part where Dante begins his journey into Hell on Maundy Thursday. April 9th, 2020 was the release date of the album and, you guessed it, the day that Maundy Thursday fell on this year. The band has left no detail out when bringing this album to life. Here’s what the band had to say about ‘Dante’s Inferno‘:

“When we were presented with the story of Dante’s Inferno by Kurt, we knew we had the perfect subject matter to craft a musical journey to accompany the story”, says Guitarist Simon.

With Dante’s Inferno we have achieved exactly what we set out to do, a musical canvas which features all areas of influence for us all as musicians, while maintaining a pace and energy throughout that hopefully keeps the listener hooked.

There was a lot of thought that went into ‘Dante’s Inferno‘ and it shows. It’s a well written retelling of the story filled with all the tension, drama and darkness of the epic descent. Every note played and sung brought it to life and gave it a sonically impressive atmosphere to exist in. You can listen to ‘Canto I – Virtue’ down below.
