Okok by Bokito

Bokito recently released their single ‘Okok‘ which is about pushing people away and regretting having done so. ‘Okok‘ has a chill groove running throughout the song, that’s like floating on clouds, as the vocals play a delicate balance of trying to hold it all together. Meanwhile the lyrics tell the story of insecurity and regret. It’s so well executed that the song really places the listener in the the center of it. As the song nears the end it grows into this subtle breakdown that is the music version of realizing everything went wrong and being filled with regret. Here’s what Moses Moorhouse had to say about ‘Okok

OKOK is about pushing people away who don’t give you exactly what you want and subsequently losing them. Be it friendships, partnerships, even family, we all have a history of doing it. Ben Jackson produced the track and did an amazing job capturing the fragility and insecurity in it. For me, this is the type of song I want to make.

I have to agree there, the song really brings out that insecurity in a profound and charming way. You can listen to ‘Okok‘ down below.
