The Drop – September 19th 2020

The Drop – September 19th 2020

This week’s The Drop – (September, 19th 2020) is all about catching up with artists we’ve previously featured. These hard working musicians are constantly putting out music! It’s nearly impossible to keep up with these musicians as they pursue their greatness but we’re here for all the amazing music and we think you should know what they’ve got going on. Let’s get to it!

Creatures by Faultress

First up this week is Faultress who recently released the ‘Creatures‘ EP and from that EP we’re showcasing the single ‘Owl‘. This A capella song is the lead song on the EP which contains A capella representations of the creatures the songs are named after. In true Faultress style, it’s perfection incarnate!

Holdin' Out for You by Jt PearsonJt Pearson is releasing new album called ‘Headlights and Highways‘ which will be available for streaming on Oct. 2nd. ‘Holdin’ Out for You‘ is the single off that album and we’re excited for it! Pearson’s music has grown so much since ‘For Emma‘ was released and if ‘Holdin’ Out for You‘ is any indication of what’s to come then we can’t wait for the album ‘Headlights and Highways‘!

Pure by My hard lesson

It’s been a while since we’ve written about My hard lesson. They’ve got a new EP out called ‘Pure‘ and from it we’ve chosen ‘The Worst Day‘. It’s been two and a half years since we’ve talked about My hard lesson and they are going strong and sounding better than ever! ‘The Worst Day‘ is a great showcase of their evolution but don’t sleep on the rest of the EP because it’s just as good!

Heat by Diamond Kites

Diamond Kites recently dropped the single ‘Heat‘ which is a different sound from ‘All Mine‘ and that’s why we wanted to add it to this weeks playlist. This band has range and can effortlessly switch up their sound. Music is always evolving and the best musicians stay in the game by evolving their sound. Diamond Kites have proven they’re more than capable of holding down the top of the charts for a long time to come.

Nite Swim by eL.I.Be

eL.I.Be is one artist of the artist I’ve been looking forward to hearing a new release from ever since ‘Liberation‘ was dropped. So you can imagine my surprise when I learned about the single ‘Nite Swim’. eL.I.Be’s sick flow over those hard hitting beats is a whole mood! Of course I was going to add it to the playlist.

Whatisthematter by Kitzl

Kitzl is an artist that can do no wrong. Every month or so we get a new song and it’s to die for. The latest single, ‘Whatisthematter‘, is no exception. Kitzl’s sound is completely fresh, unique and innovative. With each new release you’re left with wanting more. ‘Whatisthematter‘ is on my playlist and I look forward to adding the next release to it as well!

I Bought Some Lights (feat. Jennafer) by Brian Bulger

Brian Bulger’s single ‘I Bought Some Lights‘ (feat. Jennafer) is another brilliant, raw and vulnerable song we’ve been given to love and love it we do! If you had to wait for me to tell you this song exists then you’re following the wrong person. Bulger’s releases aren’t something you want to miss. Each song is filled with everything that makes us love music. Bulger is a brilliant songwriter and you should already know that.

Stand by You by Fortnight In Florida

Fortnight In Florida have dropped quite a bit since we last talk about them and for the playlist this week we wanted to add one of their latest singles ‘Stand by You‘. They’re in the midst of dropping a new album and they’ve already released some singles off it. I’m not sure if ‘Stand by You‘ will be on their new album but we can enjoy it as a single and that’s all that really matters!

Temescal Telegraph by The Corner Laughers

The Corner Laughers released a new album this year called, ‘Temescal Telegraph‘, and from it we’ve added the song ‘Loma Alta‘. Okay, officially we last reviewed Karla Kane‘s solo album, however, that was in our beginning and there wasn’t any current The Corner Laughers music to talk about. Happily there is now and whether solo or with the full band, new music from these talented musicians is a welcome sight. Check out the entire ‘Temescal Telegraph‘ album. ‘Loma Alta‘ is just one of ten amazing songs to fall in love with.

CHANGE by Thomas Hazey

It’s Hazey season! Thomas Hazey dropped an album this year called ‘CHANGE‘ and it’s overflowing with depth and bangers. It was hard to choose just one song because the whole album is amazing but we’ve added ‘Diamonds‘ to round out our playlist this week. We had to end with a banger and ‘Diamonds‘ is just that!

Well that’s all for this week folks. Make sure you hit up your favorite music service so you can discover more music by these artists!
