Demons by James Abbott

James Abbott recently released the single, ‘Demons‘, which is about drowning in overwhelming negative thoughts. ‘Demons‘ has a dark, brooding, and pensive atmosphere with a dash of classic Eighties rock thrown into the mix. The heavy bass riff comes across as this huge burden you’re carrying on your shoulders. Meanwhile the guitar holds the tension and the anxiety. Add to the mix a few sweet solos and Abbott’s emotive vocals which are haunting yet moving at the same time and ‘Demons‘ is sure to find a home on a lot of listeners playlists. Here’s what Abbott had to say about ‘Demons‘:

“I wrote Demons during a time where I felt lost, hopeless and helpless. It is a song about being stuck in a toxic mindset for so long, that you reach the point where you are willing to accept it and let it be a part of you. Hence ‘Freedom Is My Life But I Share It With My Demons’.”

Abbott also had this to say:

‘We all have our different demons that pull us down daily, sometimes they hide for a season and sometimes they’re right in your face ‘screaming’ at you. Even though I wrote the song amidst this darkness, I now look back at that time and thank God for how I grew from it. I hope that people listening can take pride in their struggles too and know that these struggles can lead to growth.’

A lot of people will relate with that. ‘Demons‘ will certainly resonate with anyone who’s felt the same way. You can listen to ‘Demons‘ down below.
