“I wrote Demons during a time where I felt lost, hopeless and helpless. It is a song about being stuck in a toxic mindset for so long, that you reach the point where you are willing to accept it and let it be a part of you. Hence ‘Freedom Is My Life But I Share It With My Demons’.”
Abbott also had this to say:
‘We all have our different demons that pull us down daily, sometimes they hide for a season and sometimes they’re right in your face ‘screaming’ at you. Even though I wrote the song amidst this darkness, I now look back at that time and thank God for how I grew from it. I hope that people listening can take pride in their struggles too and know that these struggles can lead to growth.’
