This is about being honest about mixed feelings, knowing a particular situation isn’t right for you but still finding it hard to let go of what it represented, she confesses. Like my previous material, Is It Okay comes from a genuine place. I was feeling disappointed about something not working out with a guy I had been dating. While I knew it was for the best to not message him and try to move on, it was so hard to detach from the idea of him at the time. So I let the emotions come out in a song.
I can completely understand. I’m sure many of us have wrestled with choosing between the head and the heart. It’s never an easy choice.
