That Which Destroys Us / That Which Saves Us
by Sleeping in Traffic
Sleeping in Traffic has released their double EP titled ‘That Which Destroys Us‘ as well as ‘That Which Saves Us‘. The EPs showcase the bands metal and punk influenced styles respectively. That is to say you’ll notice ‘That Which Saves Us‘ is more punk inspired while ,on the other hand, ‘That Which Destroys Us‘ is more progressive metal influenced. I have to say, it’s a novel concept and I like it! Here’s what the band had to say about the double EP:
The first ‘That Which Saves Us’ is the “upbeat EP”. It strongly represents a lot of the pop-punk influences that Ryan and Greg bring to the band, and features songs with inspiring themes and uplifting major keys. The other ‘That Which Destroys Us’ displays more of the band’s extreme metal influences, without abandoning some of the weirdness the band is known for. The EPs continue to explore odd time signatures and polyrhythms in the context of heavily distorted guitars, snarling synths, and guttural vocals.
No matter which way the band takes you, their uniqueness is not lost in transition. You’ve gotta love that! I will tell you this, both EPs are exceptionally good. So if you’re a fan of Sleeping in Traffic, you’re going to love this duel release. So drop down below and listen to ‘The Equation‘. As always, if you like what you hear then let’s keep good music coming by supporting these artists. Remember to follow the artist and spread the word! Artists Links below.
