Rocks by Jay Sunaway

Rocks by Jay Sunaway

Rocks by Jay Sunaway (a collective of revolving musicians led by Joe Woods) is the first single off the upcoming ‘Sparrowfeather’ Ep due out later this year in September. This Folksy treat contains clean and simplistic instrumentation that gently swells and contracts along side great storytelling. You can really sit back close your eyes and envision the scenery. Here’s a snippet from the press release about the song ‘Rocks‘:

Lead single ‘Rocks’ is about London and everything underneath it: the buried rivers, forgotten sacred wells, underground trains and urban fox-holes.

Apparently the upcoming ‘Sparrowfeather’ Ep will be along the same lines as the single, where the themes will consist of “place, history, and memory“. Considering how well thought out the single ‘Rocks‘ is, I’m very interested to see what context the rest of the EP takes. You can watch the lyric video for ‘Rocks‘ down below. As always, if you like what you hear then let’s keep good music coming by supporting these artists.
